On May 15, JSC “Rusatom Automated Control Systems” (JSC “RASU”) and Chinese company CTEC (China Techenergy Co. Ltd) under China General Nuclear Power Corp. (CGN) signed the Memorandum of Understanding at the X Anniversary International Forum “ATOMEXPO 2018”, stipulating agreements on implementing joint projects on the Russian, Chinese and third parties’ domestic markets. The cooperation is aimed at improving the reliability, economic efficiency and competitiveness of Instrumentation and Control Systems (I&C) of NPP units.
The document was signed by the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Butko (JSC “RASU”) and the General Manager Sun Yongbin (CTEC).
The document defines the top-priority measures focused on short-term goals. JSC “RASU” and CTEC are planning to consider the establishment of the consortium for joint supplies for Tianwan NPP. In addition, the joint plan implies providing technical, certification and marketing consultations on the promotion of promising I&C solutions of Russian and Chinese design on foreign markets in the framework of international projects.
The agreement defines the intention of the parties to develop CTEC equipment localization on the manufacturing areas of Rosatom State Corporation. CTEC has also confirmed its interest in implementing Russian-made I&C at the units under construction or planned in China which number is constantly increasing: China currently has 38 units in operation with a total installed capacity of 34.4 GW.
“The document that was signed is the first important step for development of  the product that can be widely used at the most NPPs in the world. It is evident that nowadays only effective partnership allows to develop the product with the best quality, reliability and safety parameters, such as I&C systems for NPPs. We as the developers and manufacturers of I&C systems and our clients to whom we are always ready to provide our advanced solutions are interested in that,” – the Chief Executive Officer of JSC RASU  Mr. Butko said.
