Rusatom Service JSC signed a trilateral Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of nuclear infrastructure and personnel training with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. and Saanio&Riekkola Oy.

The main goal behind the signing was to broaden the cooperation in the sphere of nuclear education and personnel training, for which Rusatom Service JSC is partly responsible.

The Parties intend to enhance cooperation in the following areas: conduct of researches, education and personnel training in the field of nuclear science and technology in order to maintain HR development at existing and future nuclear power stations, as well as nuclear research facilities.

The Parties to the Memorandum thus plan to use their best endeavors to achieve the cooperation goals, which will include, among others, mutual assistance and collaboration in the specified filed, training of highly educated and experienced trainers for nuclear community, as well as cooperation in creating an international nuclear experts base. A special importance given to nuclear infrastructure development in countries embarking on nuclear power programmes.

The Memorandum was signed on May 14th, 2018 at International Forum Atomexpo 2018 held in Sochi. It was signed by General director Mr. Evgeny Salkov as Rusatom Service JSC representative, by Managing vice-president Erja Turunen as VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. representative, while director Timo Saanio signed the Memorandum on behalf of Saanio&Riekkola.


Rusatom Service JSC was founded in 2011 and became a member of the "Electric Power" division of The Rosatom State Corporation. The company provides full range of services and supplies required for maintenance and repair for the foreign nuclear power plants that operate VVER-type reactors. Now, the company has been present on the market in 11 countries worldwide and services 22 of 37 existing NPP VVER power units outside Russia.

The Rusatom Service holds leading positions in the markets of China, Iran, Bulgaria and Armenia and acts as a general contractor of works for lifetime extension, implementation of scheduled preventive maintenance and upgrading the equipment at VVER nuclear power plants.
