JSC Concern Titan-2 (50% of shares are owned by Rosenergoatom Concern, part of Rosatom) will join the participants of Akkuyu NPP construction and perform a set of works as a contractor of JSC Atomstroyexport (ASE, general contractor of the project included into the Engineering Division of Rosatom).

Grigory Naginsky, Chief Executive Officer of JSC Concern Titan-2, noted: «In 2018 we completed construction of the first power unit of Leningrad-2 NPP which has currently generated more than 2 bln. kWh of electric power and is under preparation for putting into commercial operation. Now we are constructing the second power unit of Leningrad-2 NPP and performing pre-construction works at the site of Hanhikivi-1 NPP (Finland). We have accumulated long-term experience in construction of nuclear facilities. We enter the Turkish project with thorough understanding of the NPP construction processes and technologies".

Akkuyu NPP is the project for construction of the first NPP in Turkey with installed capacity of 4800 MW which is implemented on the basis of the Intergovernmental Agreement signed by the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey in May, 2010. NPP power units will be equipped with VVER-1200 reactors which are among the most advanced III+ generation designs with enhanced safety systems meeting all modern requirements. This is a commercial Russian design of a nuclear power plant based on the design of Novovoronezh-2 NPP (Russia, Voronezh region), the first unit of which was commissioned on August 5, 2016. When completed Akkuyu NPP will generate about 35 bln. kWh per year. The service life will be at least 60 years.
