Moscow, Russia, 30 August 2021 The third meeting of the Northern Sea Route Public Council will take place in Vladivostok on September 3, 2021 in the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum. The meeting will be chaired by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Sovcomflot Sergei Frank.
The main item on the agenda will be a discussion of the prospects for creating a year-round international maritime transport corridor of global importance. This initiative aims to reliably connect the countries of the Asia-Pacific region with Europe via the Arctic Ocean as well as via more traditional routes.
The meeting will have the following speakers: Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Director of Marine Operations, Shipping, and Logistics at PAO NOVATEK and Chairman of the Arctic Economic Council Evgeny Ambrosov; President, Chairman of the Board of FESCO Group Arkady Korostelev; Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines’s chief representative to Russia Kenji Yokoi; Director General of Finland’s Aker Arctic Technology Reko-Antti Suojanen; CEO, Head of the Board of Directors of the UAE’s DP World, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem; Chairman of the Board of Norway’s Tschudi Shipping Company AS Felix Tschudi; Vice President of China’s COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Jiqiang Wang; Russia’s Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov.
The meeting of the Public Council of the Northern Sea Route will be held in person in Vladivostok in the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum on September 3, 2021 at 10:00 am local time (3:00 am Moscow time) with the opportunity to join via video link here:
