Rosatom will present two books on nuclear technology and nuclear science. Cairo, Egypt, 30 June 2021 – Rosatom will present two books at the Cairo International Book Fair, to be held from June 30 to July 15, 2021. The company oversees Egypt’s El-Dabaa NPP project.
The book “Nuclear ABC” relates the basics of nuclear physics, atoms and atomic energy, radiation, nuclear reactor design, and the principles of operating nuclear power plants to children in simple and accessible terms.
The book “Nuclear Professions” describes the variety of professions in the nuclear industry and their contribution to societal development and environmental conservation. This book informs students exploring their professional futures about in-demand nuclear technology-related career paths in a wide range of areas, from power generation to medicine to agriculture to archeology, amongst others.
“Rosatom pays particular attention to working with the populations of the countries of its presence. It is a great honour for us to partake in the oldest international book fair in the Arab-speaking world, a fair with an established reputation amongst both book lovers and publishing professionals. We hope that our books will help expand local knowledge about the role of nuclear energy in [Egypt’s] development and will open new professional horizons for Egyptian schoolchildren and young people in the nuclear industry,” said JSC ASE Vice-President and El-Dabaa NPP Project Director Grigory Sosnin.
Rosatom is participating in the Cairo International Book Fair in cooperation with the Kotobna publishing house, whose stand will feature both books. Kotobna’s stand (number B21) is located in Hall 1.
