The signing of the Memorandum is a practical step towards implementation of the agreements achieved at the Russia-Africa Summit on 23-24th of October of 2019.
The Memorandum creates a basis pillar for cooperation between the Parties in assisting African countries in the sphere of energy security, including diversifying energy sources, use of renewable sources of energy, and implementation of projects in the nuclear energy industry.
The cooperation between AFCONE and ROSATOM aims to distribute impartial information about nuclear technologies, raise the public awareness about its applications, and promote education as well as capacity building in African countries.
