Rosatom's healthcare product line presented at the Africa Health Excon exhibition confirms the interest from the Egyptian and African markets.

Rosatom, a global technological leader, took part at the Africa Health Excon exhibition held from June 3 to 6, 2024 in Cairo. A key event in healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors brought together 1,200 Egyptian speakers and 150 foreign speakers, in addition to the presence of 300 foreign delegates providing a platform for knowledge sharing and discussions on the latest trends and developments in the healthcare sector. The exhibition this year took place under the auspices of H.E. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister.

Representatives of Rosatom enterprises took an active part in the business program. Dr. Andrey Bautin Head of the research laboratory of anesthesiology and resuscitation of the National Medical Research Center named after V.A. Almazov, tackled the current state and promising technologies of Nitric oxide for cardiac surgery patients, while Dr. Artyom Burov anesthesiologist-resuscitator, neonatologist, head of clinical work at the department of neonatal surgery at National Medical Research Center for AGP named after V.I. Kulakov, spoke about opportunities of clinical using nitric oxide generator. Speakers presented Rosatom innovative, high-level products, which can significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services in Egypt, leading to improved patient outcomes and overall healthcare efficiency.

One of the most important Rosatom products on display in the Excon, was «Tianox» (made by «Rusatom RDS»), an innovative development by specialists of the national nuclear industry used for the treatment of adults and children with nitric oxide (including newborns). The device is used to treat lung diseases, heart surgery, organ transplantation, neonatology, rehabilitation and other fields. The «Tianox» device produces nitric oxide, controls its concentration, and then delivers it to the patient's lungs.

In addition, Rosatom's expertise in nuclear medicine and radiation therapy can bring significant advancements to the Egyptian healthcare sector. These technologies can enable more accurate diagnoses, targeted treatments, and better patient care. Furthermore, and in light of Rosatom’s participation in the Africa Health Excon Exhibition, Medscan Group, Rosatom’s subsidiary group of companies and one of the leaders in the non-state healthcare sector in Russia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ayady 4040 Foundation/Association, a non-governmental organization providing free medical services for cancer treatment in Alexandria. Parties agreed to further implement joint projects aimed at utilizing non-energy nuclear technologies and developing nuclear medicine in Egypt. 

This year the exhibition had more than 350 scientific sessions, covering 32 specializations. The conference attracted more than 368 exhibitors from various countries around the world, in addition to more than 60,000 visitors from more than 100 countries around the world, bringing together all representatives of the medical and health sector under one platform, providing them with an exceptional opportunity to see the latest products and services in various medical sectors.
